The Company

Di Craft Hub is a creative centre for artisan. It is an open and spacious work area with tools and equipment needed to design and make unique visual artistic pieces. Di Craft Hub was designed by the Forward Step Foundation (FSF), as a practical solution to the challenges local artisans faced in getting access to tools and equipment, a spacious and function environment for them to create and business expertise needed for them to build an enterprise out of their passion. 

In partnership with the Environmental Foundation of Jamaica (EFJ) in collaboration with the Forestry Department through funding support by the European Union (EU), the concept was expanded to include training of women artisans. The training aimed to expand the knowledge of these women on recyclable and reusable material which can be converted to artistic pieces, that are unique, high value and high-quality products. Material such as bamboo, glass, bone, copper, wood, coconut shell, fabric from their surrounding were used to create unique sellable pieces. In the form of jewelry, home and office décor and personalized gift items. 

The business centre of Di Craft Hub is the essential piece of the package. Moving artisans from a space of just creating, to building a business using their skills and unmatched talent. Di Craft Hub connects artisans to the Hub’s marketing platform where their products are advertised and sold, link them to business coaches to help them conceptualize their business and move it from an idea to a start-up.  Di Craft Hub is building a network of artisans able to compete in the global market place with the quality products customers are looking for to satisfy their desire, art they are proud of and excited to show off.
